  9. If you aren't using the right font you would not notice it but Heddley 1.1
  10. by Edd Dumbill puts ugly errors in Amigaguide documents.

  12. Heddley is a great program and practically everyone uses it. I know because
  13. every other Amigaguide document I look at has these stupid errors.
  14.  
  15. The error is that within link text Heddley puts ASCII character 160 instead of
  16. 32 for blank spaces.  In many fonts ASCII 160 looks like a blank space, so this 
  17. error does unnoticed by many Amigaguide authors.  On my screen ASCII 160 looks 
  18. like a little 'a' with an accent above it.

  20. Imagine seeing: 'TableaofaContentsaaa'  instead of
  21.                 'Table of Contents   '
  22.  
  23. In any event FixHeddley replaces these characters with proper spaces.  It also
  24. gives a nice little diagnostic about how many 'Heddley errors' it found.

  26. If you're a Heddley user you owe it to yourself to use FixHeddley to correct 
  27. these errors.

  29. Using FixHeddley is easy.  Usage from the CLI:
  30.  
  31.         Fixheddley <name of amigaguide document> [-r]
  32.

  34. FixHeddley will create a file with the same name with .fixed postpended to it.
  35. It doesn't write to the original file.

  37. If the -r option is used FixHeddley will replace the original file with the
  38. corrected file in one pass.

  47.     -Implemented -R option to correct Amigaguide files 'in place'.  Instead of
  48.      creating an additional file it just corrects the amigaguide file where it
  49.      is.  Saving much hassle playing around with .info files and renaming 
  50.      things.
